Women's Touch Rugby

Women's  Rugby

Touch rugby is all the competitive fun of rugby but without the contact and is a great work out! We began the season back in April with 8 players and now have a squad of 20. We have recruited a number of mums from the mini/junior rugby, most of whom have never played rugby before, and we have joined the Wirral Women’s Touch Rugby League.

The League started back in the summer of 2015 and has brought huge amounts of new players to the game. Game nights take place across most of the Wirral clubs, from Hoylake to New Brighton, every other Wednesday, consisting of three 10 minute games with rolling substitutes – so you can take a rest whenever you need it. It is a wonderful atmosphere and each game night ends with a drink and snacks in the clubhouse of the hosting team.

Training takes place at Parkonians every other Thursday and is a great way to get fit, learn some skills and have a mid-week social catch up – we even had a post-training Jubilee Picnic last week and are planning our awards evening with a BBQ and a tour to Spain next year.

We are hosting the Wirral Women's Touch League game night on Wednesday 6th July, please come down and support your local club and see what the game is all about.

Next season, we aim to enter at least two teams so please get in touch if you are interested in giving it a go. Players can be aged from 14 and over, so if you’re interested please feel free to contact Emma Westwater on 07975619361.
