Cricket Club Presentation Night ~ Season 2012

Friday 5th October saw the annual Old Parkonians Cricket Club presentation and awards evening at the Clubhouse. The first since the completion of the development and refurbishment work. A splendid hot and cold buffet was laid on courtesy of Chris Hall. Everyone was very complimentary about the food so once again many thanks, Chris, it was much appreciated!

Outgoing 1st XI Captain, Adam Westwater, and Cricket Club Chaiman,Stewart McEwen, both spoke eloquently about the 2012 season and about our future aspirations. The 1st XI have just retained their place in DIvision 1 of The Cheshire Cricket Alliance(CCA) whilst the 2nd XI, under the leadership once again of Carl Brannon, gained promotion from Division 4 of the CCA. Well done, Carl and team!

A real recruitment and retention drive is to take place over the winter months in the great hope that we will be able to field two elevens more comfortably next season and look to restart the Sunday friendly team.

Adult nets for players 13 years and upwards commence at Birkenhead Park CC on Monday 11th February; more details soon after Christmas. Junior nets will start later, in the month of March; again further details will be posted on this website after Christmas.

Please spread the word and encourage prospective new players as well as talking to people who have played previously!

Bob sadly passed away in early September. Bob was an Honorary  Life Member of the club and had given us 30 plus years sterling service. He shall be missed by all at the club and a tribute to Bob appears on 'The Remembered' section of this website.
